I think Moran did somthing to him. He probably gave him a drug to make him sick and forget what happend. Poe probably saw somthing that Moran did and was going to tell. So he beat him up and gave him the drug. I think he did somthing to one of his other relatives because only three of them showed up.
I think his wife knew what happend because she didn't report him missing. Moran gave him some more of the drug because he was getting better so he had to kill him. He left the room for a couple minutes to make everyone think that Poe was getting worse. Sence they think he was drunk Moran probably put alcohol down his throat. That would also have made him sick and make him forget what happend.
Moran was the first to show up to make sure he didn't get better. His act didn't have rabies so why would he have them. The cat died too so he probably killed the cat too. He also got sick by the rain. He had amonya, he probably died from that too.
When Poe wrote a letter to his aunt and mother-in-law he wrote about what happend so maybe they are dead too. Moran probably killed them because they found out. Or maybe he killed them first and that is what Poe had found out.
