I choose to write bout ''The Meaning Of Tragedy''. In Mr.Altenburg's class we have been learning about Hero's Journey and Rites of passage, but I choose to write about ''The Meaning Of Tragedy, because I believe everyone goes through at least one tragedy in their life.
''Tragedy'', one simple word but so many different versions of it. For example; In Romeo and Juliet the tragedy is two love ones and the continuing feud between their parents, separating the love that to them seems so real. And as these two lovers long for each other there parents feud make them keep there love a secret. In the end they both pass away, to be with one another in the afterlife. I believe that everyone has one big tragedy in their life. Again, different people means different meanings to the word. What you may call "stupid" or "no big deal" might be a horrible experience to another. So to define it with just one definition doesn't cover all the real meaning of it.
Referring to ''The Afterlife" when a young teenage boy is murdered in a restroom for simply complimenting a fellow student is only one of its tragedy's. Another is that he is temporally trapped in the paranormal ghost world. This "Tragedy(s)" centers around his "ghost life" and him trying to say his final goodbyes and resolving the last few problems to the investigation of his own murder.
Strangely enough these two different storys end the same, in death. which i think everyone can agree is a real tragedy. But then again , every story has, what the author believes, is a tragedy. In more than 90% of these ''fairy tales'' end in happy endings. But as we all know ''happy endings'' are rare. And tragedy's are often. So in my final words i would like to say; That one one knows what the true meaning of tragedy. No one single sentence or few words can define it for everyone. Only you can define it for yourself.
