"Regret", my mother once said, "is a sorrow or sadness for a previous action, meaning you wish you hadn't done something you did." This is what she told me when I skipped school for one day and was punished. It was true, I regretted it, and her definition made perfect sence. My punishment would have been double chores for a month, but because my mother had to call me in "sick", I had double chores and was forced to quit track. Another example of regret, from the book Afterlife, was when a character named crystal, committed suicide. She had regretted committing suicide because she was afraid of failure. Aside from theexamples of regret that I have given you, my personal definition or slang word for regret is sorry.
